When the power goes off

The supply will be cut from 8:30am on Wednesday 24 June and is due back on by 5:30pm the same day. National Grid says the times are approximate and could shift depending on what crews find on the day.

Why it’s happening

The outage is down to maintenance work at a substation. It’s planned work rather than a fault, which is why affected homes should have had a letter through the door beforehand.

National Grid said 363 properties across the TR10 area will be off supply, with the figure accurate as of midnight on Tuesday 23 June.

What to do if you’re affected

Anyone who relies on power for medical equipment or needs extra help can sign up to the Priority Services Register through National Grid. The company also runs a free text reminder service for updates on the day, which needs your mobile number and the MPAN from your power cut letter.

For any power cut or emergency you can call 105 or 0800 6783 105 at any time.
