Former Penlee Lifeboat Crewman Nicky Cripps Has Died
It has been announced with great sadness that former Penlee Lifeboat crewman and fisherman Nicky Cripps, also known as Noddy, has died.
Nicky died on the morning of Monday 13th April 2026 following a short stay in hospital.

A Well-Known and Respected Figure
In a statement shared by Penlee Lifeboat, Nicky was described as a “real unique character” who was liked and respected by everyone who knew him.
His connection to the lifeboat and the local fishing community meant he was known to many, both on and off the water.
Tribute from Penlee Coxswain
Paying tribute, Penlee Coxswain Patch Harvey spoke about the personal loss felt by those closest to him.
Patch Harvey said: “Nicky was a very dear friend to me and my family we are going to miss him hugely. Our love and thoughts are with his wife Rachel, daughter Lauren and grandsons”

Nicky is survived by his wife Rachel, daughter Lauren and his grandsons.
The message from Penlee Lifeboat ended simply with: “RIP Nicky.”
