Jet Ski Rescue: Penlee Lifeboat To The Rescue

Yesterday afternoon, at 12:22 pm, the Falmouth Coastguard received a distress call from a jet ski with two individuals on board suffering engine failure. Swift action was needed to prevent the situation from escalating.

Rapid Response by Penlee Lifeboat

The Penlee Inshore Lifeboat (ILB) ‘Mollie & Ivor Dent’ was immediately dispatched with a crew of three dedicated volunteers. The team launched swiftly and reached the distressed jet ski within an impressive 12 minutes.

Safety First: The Decision to Tow

Given that the jet ski had launched from Penzance Harbour, the rescuers decided that the safest course of action was to tow it back there. The two occupants of the jet ski were transferred to the ILB for their safety, while the crew secured a tow line to the disabled vessel.

Safe Return to Penzance

After 40 minutes of careful navigation, the Penlee ILB successfully towed the jet ski and its occupants back to the safety of Penzance Harbour. Both individuals were unharmed and grateful for the swift and efficient response by the Penlee Lifeboat crew.
