What is the Perran Bale Race?

The format is a bale push. Teams of four take on a hay bale and push it along the beach, a test of power and endurance with the whole crew working together. Heats are timed, and the quickest go through to a head to head final.

It is open to all, with three categories to enter: Youth (14 to 18), Womens, and Open.

How to enter

Entry costs £20 per team, four people to a crew. You can register in advance or sign up on the day from 5:30pm. Races start at 6:30pm.

BBQ, cakes and a good cause

There will be a BBQ and cakes on the beach to go with the races, plus, the club hopes, some sunshine.

Every entry goes towards Perranporth Surf Life Saving Club, which runs as a registered charity (No. 1041075).
