What happened
Falmouth Coastguard requested the Polruan team’s attendance at 6pm. A drone had become entangled in overhead lighting and was sent spiralling to the ground, striking a woman on the leg as it came down. She was left with several lacerations to her lower leg.
Help was already on scene
By the time the team arrived, two medical professionals were already with the casualty. All of her wounds had been dressed and she was being looked after and shielded from the afternoon heat.
Casualty assessment
The team carried out a casualty assessment and reviewed the dressing. They judged it safe for her to make her own way to hospital for definitive care.
The Polruan team thanked the members of the public who stopped to help, praising their compassion and care, and wished the casualty well.
