High Tide Assists in Recovery
After responding to the grounded yacht the previous night and safely removing the captain, recovery teams reconvened yesterday just before high tide to attempt refloating the vessel. Conditions were favourable, and at approximately 4pm, the combination of water depth and swell provided just enough lift to free the yacht from the surf. The vessel was then successfully towed out, ensuring it reached safe waters once again.
Community Thanks and Recognition
Polzeath Coastguard has extended sincere thanks to all who played a part in this coordinated effort, including:
- Padstow Harbour Commission
- Polzeath Lifeguards
- Maritime and Coastguard Agency
- RNLI
- Polzeath Beach Ranger Service
- Rock RNLI Lifeboat
- Boscastle Coastguard Team
- Padstow Lifeboat
- HM Coastguard Padstow
This collective effort showcased the strong collaboration and dedication of all involved parties. The cooperation of beachgoers in maintaining a safe environment during the operation was also acknowledged and appreciated.
