Pool Academy Students Stage Eco Fashion Show
Catwalks, choreography and clothes pulled from the back of the wardrobe. Pool Academy turned its school hall into something altogether more stylish for an evening that left staff and students buzzing.
Students at the school, part of Athena Learning Trust, designed and modelled outfits made entirely from second-hand clothes and materials at a recent eco fashion show.

Designs Inspired by Music
In the run-up to the event, students from all year groups joined staff in collecting donated clothing. Each group was then allocated a musical genre, and the items were transformed into outfits to match. Students also choreographed dances and routines to perform alongside their designs as they took to the catwalk.
Organisers praised the effort and teamwork on show, including from those who worked behind the scenes on preparation and styling.
A Sustainable Message
Beyond the spectacle, the show was designed to get students thinking about recycling, reuse and sustainable fashion. It formed part of Pool Academy’s wider work to give students opportunities to build confidence, creativity and practical skills outside lessons.
Nick Ward, Principal at Pool Academy, said:
“What a wonderful event. The creativity on display was something else and there was a real feelgood factor all evening. Everyone put so much effort into designing and modelling their outfits, and it was brilliant to see such eye-catching results. We are incredibly proud of everyone involved.”
The school thanked everyone who attended and supported the evening.
