Students at Pool Academy in Cornwall got a glimpse of the careers waiting for them, as the school hosted a Careers Fair bringing together employers, colleges and training providers from across the region.

It wasn’t just students who turned up. Parents and carers also attended, joining in conversations about future choices and next steps alongside their children.

The fair covered apprenticeships, college courses, university pathways and training opportunities, giving attendees a broader understanding of the options available after school.

More Than Just One Event

Pool Academy, which is part of Athena Learning Trust, runs a structured careers programme throughout the year. That includes CV writing, application support, mock interviews, college visits, apprenticeship talks, work experience and employer-led events.

Nick Ward, Principal at Pool Academy, said the atmosphere on the day spoke for itself.

“The careers fair was buzzing. It was great to see so many students and parents talking with employers, colleges and training providers. Events like this really help bring future pathways to life and support students as they think about their next steps.”
