Police Appeal for Witnesses After Serious Redruth Collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Redruth that left a teenage boy in hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.

Emergency Response on St Day Road

Officers were called at around 9.50pm on Wednesday 25th March to reports of a collision on St Day Road. The incident involved a white Seat car and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 15-year-old boy, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Emergency services attended the scene, including Cornwall Air Ambulance, SWAST and specialist officers from the Devon and Cornwall Alliance Roads Policing Team. A Forensic Collision Investigator also attended.

Arrest Made

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs and causing serious injury while driving without due care and attention.

He remains in police custody this morning.

Investigation Ongoing

A full investigation of the scene has been carried out, with officers working to establish the exact cause of the collision.

Police thanked members of the public for their patience while the investigation took place.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have relevant dash cam footage, to come forward.
