Passing out after months of training
Becoming a qualified Shore Crew volunteer takes a lot of hard work, training, dedication and commitment, and Mac has put in plenty of all four to reach this point. He was assessed and passed out by Richie Law, and the station is calling it a fantastic achievement, one that is thoroughly deserved.
Shore Crew sit alongside the boat crew as part of the RNLI‘s volunteer network at each station, and a pass-out only comes after the training and assessment has been signed off in full.
What comes next for Mac
Newquay RNLI says it is looking forward to seeing Mac continue to develop his skills and play his part in keeping the waters and coastline around Newquay safe. For now, the newest name on the Shore Crew rota gets to enjoy a well-earned round of congratulations from the rest of the station.
