A new navigator for Penlee
Volunteer Penlee Lifeboat crewman Trevelyan Worth is now a Severn class navigator.
He got there by passing an exam, followed by an afloat assessment during an afternoon exercise in Mount’s Bay.
What the assessment involved
RNLI assessor trainer Ollie George gave Trevelyan several navigational scenarios to work through.
They included creating search patterns using charts and the on board navigation equipment.
The station said Trevelyan “passed with flying colours”.
Coxswain training comes next
There is more to come. Trevelyan will now start his Severn class Coxswain training.
Penlee Lifeboat shared the news with a short message for its crewman: “Congratulations Trevelyan!”
