Royal Cornwall Show Cancels Final Day Due to Weather

The final day of the Royal Cornwall Show, due to take place on Saturday 6th June, has been called off.

Why the show has been cancelled

Organisers say the decision came after a full assessment of the forecast weather and what it would do to the showground. In their words, “following a thorough assessment of forecast weather conditions and their impact on the showground, the difficult decision has been taken to cancel the final day of the Royal Cornwall Show on Saturday.”

They described it as a difficult call and said safety came first. The show stated that the wellbeing of visitors, exhibitors, competitors, members, staff, volunteers and contractors had been central to the decision and remained the highest priority.

What organisers have said to ticket holders

There was an acknowledgement that the news will sting for a lot of people, especially anyone who had planned to attend, exhibit or compete. Organisers thanked everyone for their patience and support, and said they recognised how disappointing the closure would be.

Anyone holding a ticket, exhibiting, competing or attending as a member is being told to wait for further detail. The show said information for ticket holders, exhibitors, competitors, members and other stakeholders would be shared as soon as possible through its official channels.
