Saltash Public Toilet Closed After Vandalism Attack
The accessible toilet at Belle Vue in Saltash has been forced to close following a vandalism attack on the evening of Wednesday 15th April.
Saltash Town Council confirmed the closure on Thursday 16th April, stating that repairs and safety checks need to be carried out before the facility can reopen. The council said it understands “how important these facilities are” and has promised to share an update once they are ready to welcome the public again.
The incident is not an isolated one. The council has acknowledged that vandalism has been an ongoing problem, particularly over the Easter holidays, and says it is now working directly with the police to find a longer-term solution to prevent further attacks.
Other Saltash Toilet Facilities
For those needing to use public toilets in Saltash, the council has confirmed the following facilities remain open:
- Longstone Park – Open and fully operational
- Waterside – Open and fully operational
- Alexandra Square – Open and fully operational
- Guildhall – Open during normal Guildhall public opening hours
- Isambard House – Open when the Trackside Café is open
In a statement, the council said it appreciates the patience and understanding of residents and visitors, adding that it is “doing everything we can to keep these facilities open, clean, and safe for everyone to use.”
No timescale for the reopening of the Belle Vue accessible toilet has been given at this stage.
