Launceston’s Treggy 7 road run raises funds for local rescuers

The morning starts with a watering can worth of coffee, a fold-out table, and a lot of orange kit. By the time the Treggy 7 finishes, the volunteers in red and orange along the route have given up their Sunday for free, same as the ones who ran it.

Marshals, medical cover, and a road run in Launceston

East Cornwall Search and Rescue Team turned out across the course of the Treggy 7 Road Run, cheering runners on, chatting with the crowd, and staying ready for any search and rescue support the day might need. The team called it a brilliant Sunday morning, and said events like this show exactly what makes East Cornwall special: people turning up, mucking in, and lifting each other up.

East Cornwall Search and Rescue Team is a local charity providing an inland search and rescue service for lost, missing and injured people across East Cornwall and further afield when required. It is entirely voluntary and relies on public support to stay operational.

A cake sale that raised more than dough

The thanks on the day went straight to Launceston Road Runners, organisers of the Treggy 7, for their warmth, energy and generosity. Their cake sale wasn’t just delicious, it raised funds to support the search and rescue team and the work its volunteers put in year round.

Every slice, every chat, every smile adds up, the team said, and it all makes a difference.
