Gavin Pedley wants all of Cornwall’s running in one place
A race announced on one club’s page. Results posted somewhere else. Someone’s first 5K buried in a Facebook feed. Cornwall has no shortage of running, but keeping up with all of it has meant a fair bit of hunting around.
Gavin Pedley, a Camborne runner and member of Carn Runners, decided to do something about that. In June he launched Run Cornwall, a website that brings the county’s running news, races, clubs and runners’ stories together.

News, events and goings on across the Duchy
Why he built it
Gavin has been part of the local running community long enough to see how much goes on, and how spread out it is.
“Being involved in the local running community, I’ve seen first-hand just how much goes on across Cornwall,” he said. “There are some fantastic running clubs, brilliant events and inspiring stories, but a lot of that information is scattered across different websites and social media pages.
“I wanted to create somewhere that brings it all together, not just for experienced runners, but for anyone interested in getting involved, finding a local club or discovering their next race.”
How clubs and runners can get involved
Gavin says one of the main things he wanted was for Run Cornwall to be more than a website where he publishes articles.
Running clubs and event organisers can add their clubs and events to the site’s directories, so people can see what is happening across Cornwall. They can also send in their own news, race reports and announcements.
Individual runners are just as welcome to share their experiences and achievements. Whether someone has finished their first 5K, raised money for charity or done something special, Gavin says he would love to help give those stories some recognition.
Club listings, events and the forms to submit a story are all on the Run Cornwall website.
“Run Cornwall is something I’m really passionate about,” Gavin said, “and I’d love to see it grow into a place where the whole Cornish running community can share news, celebrate achievements and support one another.”
