Truro City FC Confirm Retained and Released List After National League Season

The dust has settled on Truro City’s first ever campaign at the fifth tier of English football, and now the rebuild begins. The club has confirmed which players are staying, which are leaving, and which loanees are heading back to their parent clubs ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Options Taken Up

Three players have had options on their contracts triggered by the club.

Goalkeeper Aidan Stone, who arrived from Yeovil Town in July 2025 and kept eight clean sheets across the season, saw his option exercised before the campaign drew to a close.

Midfielder Lirak Hasani and attacker Ben Starkie also had their options taken up, this time after the season ended.

Ben made a promising start to life at the Truro City Stadium before a serious hamstring injury in September ruled him out for an extended spell. The Tanzanian international fought his way back to full fitness and put in a string of strong performances during the closing weeks of the campaign.

Lirak, who joined from Torquay United a year ago, was a regular in the side and chipped in with three goals before his own season was cut short by injury during the away defeat at Eastleigh. The Kosovan had been one of the team’s most consistent performers.

Players Staying Under Contract

A sizeable chunk of last season’s squad remain tied to the club for 2026/27.

Those under contract are Dan Lavercombe, Zac Bell, Connor Riley-Lowe, Will Dean, Tom Harrison, Yassine En-Neyah, Dan Rooney, Tyler Harvey, Billy Palfrey, Dominic Johnson-Fisher, Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain, Luke Jephcott, Tylor Love-Holmes, Ryan Law, Jack Stretton, Shaun Donnellan and Harry Kite.

Players Released

Strikers Rekeil Pyke and Saikou Janneh have both been released, along with midfielder Harry Charsley.

Sam Sanders also leaves the club upon expiry of his contract. The former Nottingham Forest academy graduate, who had the distinction of being John Askey’s first signing as City boss two years ago and helped the club lift the National League South title, spent part of the 2025/26 season out on loan at National League North side Worksop Town.

Loanees Heading Home

Five loan players return to their parent clubs after their temporary deals expired.

Max Kinsey heads back to AFC Bournemouth, George Cooper returns to Mansfield Town, Freddie Issaka rejoins Plymouth Argyle, and Kieran Wilson and Tom Dean both return to Exeter City.

The club thanked all of the departing players for their contributions and wished them well for whatever comes next.
