Carlyon Bay Hotel marks Tia’s ten years of service
For ten years, one familiar face has kept a Cornish hotel’s public spaces looking their best, long before most guests are up and long after they’ve gone to bed. That quiet consistency was given its due this week.

A decade of care
The Carlyon Bay Hotel is celebrating a milestone for a member of staff who has spent the past ten years keeping the hotel’s main areas spotless, welcoming and beautifully presented. Tia has become a familiar sight to regular guests around the hotel over that time, and this week the team marked her ten years of long service.
The hotel says the anniversary reflects Tia’s hard work, dedication and care, and that it feels lucky to have had her as part of the team throughout the decade.
Recognised at the front door
The milestone was marked with a certificate of appreciation, presented at the hotel’s main entrance and shared with guests and followers on the Carlyon Bay Hotel’s Facebook page.
Ten years covers a lot of change for any St Austell hospitality business, from returning regulars to entirely new generations of visitors passing through reception. Through all of it, the hotel says, Tia has been part of what makes the place feel cared for.
The certificate reads simply: 10 years.
