St Austell Food Festival Set for 30th May in Town Centre

A one-day food festival is set to take over St Austell town centre later this spring, bringing together local producers, street food and entertainment for a family-friendly day out.

What to expect on the day

The eat:St Austell food festival will take place on Saturday 30th May from 10am to 4pm. The event is free to attend and designed to be accessible to all, with a focus on celebrating producers from around the St Austell area.

Visitors can expect a wide range of food and drink, including local bakers, farmers, brewers, orchardists, roasters and street food traders. Most of those attending are based within 30 miles of the town, with a small number of specialist producers travelling from further afield.

Alongside the food, there will be entertainment and activities running throughout the day, with options aimed at all ages. Organisers say there will be plenty of choice for different dietary needs, including gluten free, vegan, vegetarian and alcohol free options.

Those planning to attend are advised to arrive early for the best selection and a bit more space to explore.

Supporting local producers

The festival is organised by eat:Festivals, a not-for-profit social enterprise. Its events are designed to connect communities with the food and drink produced in the surrounding area.

By keeping costs low for traders, the organisers say more money goes directly back into local businesses and their communities.

At each event, visitors have the chance to meet producers face to face and learn more about the food and drink they are buying.

Designed to be welcoming for everyone

The festival will be fully accessible for buggies, scooters and pushchairs, with stewards on hand to help throughout the day. It is also dog friendly, making it an option for the whole family.

There will be seating areas, space to move around and a mix of entertainment including DJs, buskers and performers.

No tickets or booking are required, with open access throughout the day.

eat:Festivals runs events across the West Country, including Somerset, Gloucestershire, Bristol, Wiltshire, Devon, Dorset and Cornwall.

The St Austell date sits within a wider 2026 schedule, which includes events in places such as Yeovil, Taunton, Dawlish, Bodmin and Weston-super-Mare.
