St Austell Mum and Young Son Left With Nothing After House Fire
A St Austell mum and her seven year old son are trying to rebuild their lives after losing their home and all their belongings in a devastating house fire.
What Happened
On 19th January 2026, Lauren Papaioannou and her son Theo, aged seven, lost their home in a sudden fire. Everything they owned was destroyed, leaving them with nothing but the clothes they were wearing.
The incident has left the family needing urgent support to regain some stability and safety.
Fundraiser Launched to Help Them Rebuild
A fundraising page has been set up on GoFundMe to help Lauren and Theo cover immediate and longer term needs.
The fundraiser has been organised by Janice Hall, who wrote:
“I am setting up this Go Fund Me page on behalf of a lovely lady at this extremely difficult time.”
She added:
“On 19/01/2026 Lauren Papaioannou and her young son Theo (age 7) lost absolutely everything when a sudden house fire destroyed their home. In just moments, all of their belongings, memories, and the place they felt safe were gone.”
What the Fundraiser Will Support
The money raised is intended to help with essential items and costs, including:
-
Emergency clothing and essentials
-
Temporary accommodation and living costs
-
Food and basic supplies
-
Replacing school items and toys for Theo
-
Deposits and fees for a new place to live
-
Furniture and basic household items once a new home is found
Janice also wrote:
“They are now left with nothing but the clothes they were wearing and the hope that they can start again.”

Anyone who wishes to support Lauren and Theo can donate or share the fundraiser via this link: Please help after a devastating house fire
The organiser says that even sharing the page can make a meaningful difference during what has been described as one of the hardest moments of their lives.
