Two Arrested in St Austell After Police Find Drugs, Weapon and Cash

Officers thought it was a routine stop. What they found next sent them straight to a nearby address.

St Austell neighbourhood police arrested two men on Thursday 7th May after stopping a vehicle in the area and discovering suspected class A drugs on the occupants.

What Officers Found

Both men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug possession and supply offences. The find prompted officers to follow up at one of the men’s home addresses, where further searches turned up more suspected controlled drugs, a prohibited weapon and a quantity of cash believed to be linked to criminal activity.

Both men have been released on bail while enquiries continue.

St Austell Police credited the result to proactive work by the neighbourhood team alongside colleagues from other units, describing it as part of an ongoing effort to tackle drug-related harm across the community.
