Reports of nuisance behaviour

According to St Austell Police, a number of reports have been received involving young people carrying out nuisance behaviour during the evening and early hours.

It has been reported that individuals are either cherry knocking or kicking the front doors of residents’ homes.

Impact on residents

While the behaviour may be seen by some as harmless, police have highlighted the potential impact on those living in the area.

Such incidents can cause distress, particularly for vulnerable people, including the elderly and those who may have previously experienced domestic abuse or stalking.

Police response and appeal

Police have said they will be increasing patrols in the area and will be working with local schools in an effort to identify those responsible.

They are also urging parents and guardians to take responsibility for knowing where their children are in the evenings, and to encourage respect and understanding towards others in the community.
