Police to increase evening patrols in St Erth after ASB reports

The churchyard and the parkland around it are the sort of places most people in St Erth walk through without a second thought. Lately, the evenings there have been drawing a different kind of attention.

Officers from the Hayle Neighbourhood Team were called to St Erth Parish Church and the surrounding parkland after reports of persistent anti-social behaviour during the evening.

What the police have said

In a statement, the Hayle and St Ives policing team said they understand the impact that anti-social behaviour can have on local residents, visitors and community spaces.

They confirmed they will be working closely with St Erth Parish Council and local partners to address the concerns raised, with the aim of keeping the area safe and welcoming for everyone.

More officers in the village during the evenings

As part of that work, the team will be increasing evening patrols in St Erth and neighbouring areas. The plan is to provide a visible presence and to speak with people in the community while they are out.

Reporting anti-social behaviour

Officers are asking anyone who sees anti-social behaviour to report it to Devon & Cornwall Police.

According to the team, community information plays a vital role in helping them identify issues, direct patrols and take appropriate action.
