Bude masters clinch fourth straight Surf Life Saving crown
Four years running now. That is the run Bude Surf Life Saving Club‘s masters team has put together, after another weekend of racing ended with the same result: the national trophy heading back to Bude.

A weekend that took a whole club to pull off
The team came away as Masters National Champions, and the club is clear that no small group of racers did this alone. It took captains, a team manager, a coaching team, kit handlers and a long list of members loading trailers and running gear up and down the beach to get the result over the line.
The event itself was hosted by Holywell Bay Surf Life Saving Club, and Bude’s thanks went there first. Months of background work from the Holywell Bay team made the weekend possible, and Bude wished them well for the rest of the week’s competition still to come.
Captains James and Mel were singled out for the amount of work they do behind the scenes, and team manager Anna for keeping the group organised across the weekend. The supporters and club handlers who kept kit moving between events got their own mention too, alongside the members who spent the weekend loading trailers and making sure equipment survived the trip in one piece. The coaching team came in for thanks as well, credited with keeping the squad driven and motivated through the racing.
The trophy goes back to Bude for a fourth year
None of that work counts for much without the racers themselves, and the club’s final word went to the members who competed and helped bring the Surf Life Saving trophy home. Four consecutive national titles is not a fluke, and Bude’s post made a point of naming almost everyone involved in getting there, from the handlers on the beach to the coaches on the sidelines.
The celebrations were short-lived. Bude’s Nippers and Junior teams begin their own competitions this week, and the club’s message afterwards was simple: let’s go, Team Bude.
