Beat 4 Autism to Host Superhero Masquerade Ball in Torpoint

An adult-only superhero themed masquerade ball is set to take place at Torpoint AFC, raising funds for Beat 4 Autism while celebrating people making a difference in the local community.

Superheroes, Music and a Masquerade Theme

The Beat 4 Autism Superhero Masquerade Ball will feature a buffet provided by Cafe Abundance, a raffle, and live music from Jason Milburn, who will be performing songs spanning the 1970s through to the noughties.

Tickets are priced at £25, with proceeds going back into Beat 4 Autism’s work supporting families of autistic individuals.

Community Awards on the Night

The evening will also include an awards ceremony recognising people who have made a positive impact locally. Awards due to be presented include Fundraising Star, People’s Champion and The Unsung Hero, which combines elements of the other categories.

Why Masquerade Matters

The ball will be held during World Autism Week, with the masquerade theme chosen to symbolise masking. Autistic masking is described as a strategy, often subconscious, where autistic individuals suppress or hide autistic traits.
