If you’ve been sitting in the queue for the Torpoint Ferry lately, you’ll have noticed the gap on the water.

That gap has now closed.

Tamar Crossings, the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry Joint Committee, has confirmed that all three ferries are back in service.

Full three-ferry operation again

The crossing has returned to full three-ferry operation, the joint committee said. Two things had to happen first.

The maintenance programme for Plym II had to be completed. And the chain issue on Tamar II had to be resolved.

Both are now done.

A thank you to ferry users

Tamar Crossings acknowledged that plenty of people had been waiting for this. “We know many customers have been waiting for this moment,” it said, “and we’d like to thank everyone for their patience throughout.”
