Cornwall’s newest electric buses head for Truro

Cornwall’s newest electric buses will soon be taking over the Truro Park and Ride service. Today, Tuesday 8 September, gives residents a sneak peek before the switch, with the Transport for Cornwall team setting up at Lemon Quay in Truro from 9.30am to 3pm. Anyone who wants to know more about the new buses, or has a question about public transport in Cornwall more generally, can go along and ask the team direct.

Catch the Bus Month reaches Newquay

The team isn’t stopping in Truro. On Friday 11 September they’ll be at Newquay Bus Station as part of Catch the Bus Month, the same open invitation to pop over and talk buses. It’s part of a wider run of stops the team is making at different places across Cornwall throughout the year, taking the chance to hear directly from passengers and answer whatever questions come up.

The new buses are delivered as a service of Cornwall Council, and carry “driving electric for a carbon neutral Cornwall” on their livery alongside the Transport for Cornwall branding. No date has been given yet for when the electric buses officially take over the Truro route full time, so today’s stop at Lemon Quay is the first proper chance to see one up close.
