Bargain Hunters Rejoice: British Heart Foundation Opens New Home Store in Truro
A brand-new British Heart Foundation (BHF) home store is set to open in Truro next week, offering shoppers the chance to browse a wide range of second-hand furniture and homeware – all while supporting lifesaving research.
Grand Opening on 25th February
The 6,500 square-foot store will officially open its doors on Tuesday, 25th February at 10AM, with a carefully curated selection of sofas, beds, white goods, dining sets, and more. The new store is located at Unit 2A, Threemilestone Retail Park, Truro, TR4 8GA.
As one of only two BHF home stores in Cornwall, the charity hopes to welcome customers from across the county, showcasing the benefits of preloved homeware.
Dan Wood, BHF Area Manager, said:
“We’re really excited to welcome customers from across Cornwall through the doors. Please do pop in, say hello and have a look to see what we have in store.”
Easy Shopping and Donations
Located in a popular retail park, the Truro home store will be fully accessible on one level, making it easy for shoppers to browse. A customer collection point at the rear of the store will be available for those picking up purchases.
For those unable to transport larger items themselves, Dan added:
“If you can’t quite fit anything in your boot, speak to a member of the store team to arrange a home delivery.”
The BHF store is packed with donated furniture and homeware, and the charity is encouraging people to donate their own quality items. Free collections for larger donations can be arranged by contacting the store.
“If you’ve got bigger items, give us a call and we can arrange a free collection. We also accept donations in store but if you’re not sure, give us a call and we’ll be happy to help.”
Supporting Life-Saving Research
All profits from BHF stores help fund research into heart diseases, stroke, vascular dementia, and diabetes. With 680 stores across the UK, BHF raises millions each year, preventing over 54,000 tonnes of goods from going to waste, including 186,000 sofas and armchairs.
In addition to in-store sales, BHF sells unique items online via its eBay shop, and has also become one of the top sellers on Depop, with over 22,000 followers.
The charity is always on the lookout for volunteers, with around 18,000 people already gifting their time to support BHF’s work. Nearly a quarter of retail staff started as volunteers before securing paid positions.

For those unable to visit in person, donations can also be posted for free via Collect+.
The new Truro store will provide an opportunity to shop sustainably, grab a bargain, and help fund vital medical research—all in one place.
