Police Appeal After Two-Month-Old Foal Stolen Near Truro
Police appeal after two-month-old Shetland foal goes missing
Devon & Cornwall Police are appealing for information after a young foal was stolen from farmland near Allet, just outside Truro.
The foal, named Lucy, is a two-month-old female chestnut skewbald Shetland pony. She was taken sometime between Friday 11th and Saturday 12th July 2025.
“We are fearing for Lucy’s safety”
PC Lucy Wyatt, lead for Equine Crime at Devon & Cornwall Police, said:
“Lucy’s owner is understandably distraught. At this age, foals are reliant on their mother’s milk and we are fearing for Lucy’s safety.”
She continued:
“We’re appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area to report it to us. At her age and size, it is possible that Lucy could fit in a vehicle.”
“We don’t have any more information at this time about the time or date that Lucy was taken but it would have required someone to enter the field and take hold of Lucy before removing her.”
“If you have Lucy, please bring her home”
In a direct message to the public, PC Wyatt added:
“If anyone has any information about Lucy’s whereabouts, please, please get in contact. Equally, if you have Lucy, please bring her home. Please share this post and let’s get Lucy back home safely.”
