Truro Cathedral exhibition maps a 125-mile Cornish pilgrimage

A Belgian photographer spent two years walking the length of Cornwall, from a priory in the east to a tidal island in the west, and the pictures and words he brought back are now hanging inside Truro Cathedral. Entry is free.

What the exhibition shows

The Cornish Celtic Way is a 125-mile (200km) pilgrimage route that runs from St Germans Priory to St Michael’s Mount. Along the way it takes in the stories of the Cornish Celtic saints, and it visits Celtic chapels, holy wells and Celtic crosses. The route also folds in 60 miles (96km) of Cornish coast path and two established pilgrimage routes, the Saints Way and St Michael’s Way.

The exhibition gathers the images and reflections that photographer Luk Collet made on his own travels along the route in 2021 and 2022. It runs to 26 large panels, each pairing his photographs with his reflective text.

A route in three languages

Every panel carries a QR code in three languages. Scan one and you can reach more information about that stretch of the way, local drone footage, and interviews with pilgrims and with the people who keep the pilgrim’s welcome going along the route.

When you can see it

The exhibition is on at Truro Cathedral until Sunday 9 August. There is no charge to enter the cathedral or to view the panels.
