Truro City unveils Milestone Project for its Langarth home

A football ground usually only really comes alive once a week, on a Saturday afternoon, before emptying out again until the next match. Truro City Football Club wants its stadium to work every day instead, and it has put a name to the plan: the Milestone Project.

What the Milestone Project would include

Truro City Football Club is working with master developer LGV Property Holdings LLP, alongside its members Cornwall Council and Treveth Holdings, on a development proposal centred in and around the Truro City Stadium. The scheme is called the Milestone Project, and its proposals set out a mixed-use stadium district built to support activity well beyond matchdays.

The designated site would include a new clubhouse and increased stadium capacity, alongside a mix of accommodation, a community centre, a 3G pitch, and health, employment, retail, food and beverage and other commercial uses. Taken together, the ambition is to position the club as an anchor institution for placemaking, community activity and economic impact within the city of Truro and Cornwall more widely.

A hub built around the Park and Ride

The site’s location is part of the appeal. It sits alongside Cornwall Council’s adjoining 1,250-space Park and Ride facility, with direct connections into Truro’s transport network. Together, the club says, these elements support a well-connected destination for sport, health, employment and community activity, rather than a stadium that only fills up on a matchday.

A new clubhouse at the centre of it

Truro City, Cornwall Council and Treveth Holdings are now working with prospective development partners, occupiers and investors to bring the land forward, with the stated aim of delivering lasting economic and social value for Truro and the wider Langarth community.

A long-term income stream for the club and its community trust

The project reflects the ambition and ethos of Truro City, with the potential to establish a durable, long-term income stream for the club and its charity arm, the Truro City Community Trust, for generations to come.
