Truro Rangers Patrols to Continue with Ongoing Funding

Truro BID has confirmed it will continue funding the Truro Rangers security team for five days a week during the 2026/27 financial year.

Continued Presence in the City

The Truro Rangers were first introduced in April 2023 and patrol for 46 hours a week. They act as a visible deterrent against low level crime and violence against shop workers.

Since their launch, the service has been funded through the Truro BID Levy.

Extra Patrols to Continue

Alongside the BID-funded hours, additional ‘Hot Spot Patrols’ have been carried out by the Rangers since Autumn 2024. These patrols were supported by Government funding.

It has now been confirmed that 14 hours a week of these Hot Spot Patrols will continue for the next six months. The patrols take place in the evenings and on alternate Saturdays.

Funding Secured Through Results

The continuation of the Hot Spot Patrols follows a successful funding award from the Police and Crime Commissioner.

Truro BID stated that evidence of the scheme’s success was used to secure the funding.
