A Bib Gourmand kitchen on the move
Counter Culture is a Basque-inspired small plates restaurant in Newquay. It was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026, a year after the Good Food Guide named it the No. 1 restaurant in the South West.
The restaurant blends the flavours and spirit of Northern Spain with local Cornish produce. Its seasonal small plates are designed for sharing, served alongside low-intervention wines, craft ales and inventive cocktails.
Ben will bring that same approach, with its seasonal produce and inventive cooking, into the Plonk’d kitchen for the night.
Tickets, seatings and wine pairings
There are two seatings on the night, at 5pm and 8pm. Tickets cost £45 per person, and wine pairings are available to go with each course.
To book a table, call 07396 764102 or visit the Plonk’d website.
Pintxos bars and small producers
Plonk’d was founded in Wadebridge in 2023 by hospitality duo Jonny and Jess. They took their inspiration from the convivial atmosphere of Northern Spanish pintxos bars.
It serves seasonal, flavour-led plates alongside a carefully curated list of low-intervention wines from small producers. So both venues take their cue from the same corner of Spain.
Plonk’d is billing the evening as a standout date in the North Cornwall food calendar.
