Cornwall’s bin collections unaffected by Bank Holiday Monday

If you have been trying to work out whether Bank Holiday Monday shuffles your bin day, it does not. Cornwall Council has confirmed every collection round in the county runs to its normal timetable over the long weekend, and its recycling centres are keeping to set hours too.

Food waste, recycling, rubbish and garden waste all as usual

Whichever of the four bin collections you are due on Monday 31 August, from food waste to garden waste, it goes ahead exactly as scheduled. There is no need to put anything out early or check for a revised day, because the council has made no changes for the Bank Holiday.

Recycling centres open 9am to 4pm

Cornwall’s Household Waste and Recycling Centres will also be open on the day, running from 9am to 4pm. Anyone planning a Bank Holiday tip run can head down within those hours as normal.

It is a small thing, but a useful one to know before the bags are already out on the step. One less thing to plan around on a long weekend that is otherwise entirely normal, bin-wise.
