Cornwall set for warm sunshine as high pressure builds

After a mixed start to the week, the forecast is turning in Cornwall’s favour. Warmer air, brighter skies and a run of sunshine are on the way, with the best of it saved for the weekend.

What to expect today

Any showers around this morning should clear away to leave a mainly dry and bright day with some sunny spells. More prolonged sunshine is likely to develop by late afternoon. It will feel warmer than Tuesday, with a maximum temperature of 23°C.

A wet night, then a sunny Thursday

The bright weather does not last into the night. After a fine and bright evening, cloud will build and outbreaks of rain are set to develop towards midnight. The rain continues overnight and it turns rather breezy, with temperatures dropping no lower than 13°C.

That rain clears south early on Thursday morning, leaving a sunny day for most. Winds fall light as the day goes on, so the afternoon should be a pleasant one. Temperatures reach a high of 24°C.

The weekend picture

High pressure builds through Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That means plenty of warm sunshine and light winds throughout, the kind of settled spell that makes for good beach and garden weather. There may be a little more cloud around on Saturday, but the overall theme stays warm and bright.
