A bright but unsettled Sunday

The Met Office forecast for South West England covering Sunday 3rd May through Thursday 7th May suggests today will start cloudy with patchy rain in places, before brightening up with sunny spells later on. The catch is that showers are expected to develop as the day goes on, and some of these could be heavy, with thunder and hail thrown in for good measure. The risk is mainly weighted towards the north of the region, with temperatures peaking at around 17°C.

Tonight will see those showers easing off somewhat during the evening, although they could linger for much of the night in places. It stays largely cloudy and generally mild, with lows of around 9°C.

Bank holiday Monday

Anyone hoping for clear skies on bank holiday Monday may be left disappointed. The day starts cloudy for many, with just a few bright or sunny spells breaking through. Further showers are expected to bubble up during the afternoon, and temperatures will reach around 16°C.

The week ahead

Looking further ahead to Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the pattern of a few showers continues, although there should be some sunnier spells emerging too. Cloud cover will be variable across the three days.

One thing to note for anyone who’s been enjoying the recent warmth, it’s set to feel chillier as temperatures drop off through the week.
