Thunder Could Rumble Over Cornwall as Wet Week Sets In

The odd rumble of thunder could break over Cornwall later today, with rain, wind and scattered showers set to push through the rest of the week and into the weekend.

Rain, then showers, then thunder

A spell of persistent rain moves across the South West during Wednesday morning, with sunny spells and scattered showers following in the afternoon. Some of those showers could turn locally heavy, and there’s a chance of thunder mixed in. Winds pick up as the day goes on. The maximum temperature is 19°C.

Tonight brings further showers or longer spells of rain into the evening and overnight, although some clear spells are likely across the east of the region. It stays breezy, with a minimum temperature of 10°C.

Thursday 4th June keeps the same pattern going. Sunny spells and showers are forecast, and those showers will merge at times to give longer spells of rain over the hills and moors. Temperatures stay near normal at a maximum of 18°C. It remains breezy.

The weekend looks mixed

Showers become less frequent on Friday 5th June. Saturday 6th June brings a spell of rain and stronger winds. Sunday 7th June returns to sunny spells and showers. Temperatures across the three days will be close to or slightly below normal.
