Cornwall’s Week Ahead Looks Wetter Than You’d Like
Hoping the recent dry spell would hang around? You might want to keep the waterproofs by the door, because the forecast for the days ahead in the South West has other ideas.
The latest outlook covers Sunday 7th June through to Thursday 11th June, and the headline is a simple one. It is staying unsettled all week.

A brighter start today
Today brings a drier and brighter day than Saturday, with the best of the brightness arriving during the morning. Cloud will build up later on, and some spots of rain are expected to reach the west by the end of the day. It will feel a little warmer, with a maximum temperature of 19°C.
Tonight stays largely dry through the evening before outbreaks of rain gradually spread eastwards overnight. By dawn that rain turns heavier and more persistent. It will be a breezy but mild night, with the temperature dropping no lower than 13°C.
Monday brings the wettest of it
Monday morning looks like the soggiest part of the week. Expect a wet start with the rain heavy in places. The good news is that it gradually eases from the west through the afternoon, with brighter but showery conditions following on behind. It will feel cool for early June, reaching a maximum of 17°C.
What happens later in the week
Tuesday and Wednesday bring a mixture of sunshine and showers, so the umbrella stays on standby. Thursday then turns wet and windy. Temperatures across the period are set to sit around or a little below average for the time of year.
So if you have been waiting for summer to settle in, this is not quite the week for it.
