Fog clings to Cornwall’s north coast as the heat builds to 30°C

Grey mornings on the coast are about to give way to something warmer. A lot warmer.

Overnight low cloud and fog is clearing across South West England through Tuesday, and behind it comes a stretch of hot, dry weather that builds as the week goes on.

Tuesday and into the night

Low cloud pulls back to the western coasts during the morning. On those western coasts it may hang around all day. Everywhere else gets a very warm day with spells of strong sunshine, and the temperature climbs to a maximum of 30°C.

The night stays clear for most, with light winds and a mild feel. Some low cloud covers the north coast of Cornwall. Mist and fog form again in prone spots across the southwest. The minimum temperature drops to 14°C.

Wednesday onwards

Any mist and fog lifts quickly on Wednesday morning, leaving a bright and sunny day for everyone. It feels hot in the strong sunshine, especially in the east, with a maximum of 27°C.

From Thursday to Saturday the fine weather holds. Spells of strong sunshine continue, it stays dry with light winds, and temperatures keep climbing. It starts to feel increasingly hot.
