24°C Heat Today… But Here’s What’s Coming Next

A warm and sunny spell is set to bring a taste of early summer across the South West today, Wednesday 8th April, before conditions turn more unsettled as the week goes on.

Warm Sunshine Across the Region

Much of the region will enjoy a fine and dry day with spells of sunshine. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 24°C, with light winds making it feel particularly warm for the time of year.

However, further west across Cornwall, there is likely to be more patchy cloud, especially during the afternoon.

Murky Conditions Overnight

Into tonight, cloud in the far west is expected to drift eastwards. Some areas may see a little drizzle, with conditions turning murky in places, particularly near the coast and over higher ground.

Temperatures will drop to a minimum of around 9°C.

Cooler and Wetter by Thursday

Thursday will start off bright in the east, but a band of rain is forecast to move eastwards through the morning.

Brighter conditions will follow behind the rain, although there could still be the odd shower. It will feel noticeably cooler compared to today, with maximum temperatures reaching around 16°C.

Unsettled Weekend Ahead

Looking ahead to Friday through to Sunday, the weather is expected to remain unsettled.

There will be further rain at times on Friday and Saturday, with Saturday likely to see the heaviest rain. By Sunday, conditions are set to become more showery.

Temperatures over the weekend are expected to return closer to average for the time of year.
