Frost Warning for Cornwall as Forecast Takes Sharp Turn This Week
Just when it felt like spring had properly settled in, the Met Office has issued a forecast for the South West that swings between sunshine, showers, and the return of frost. Here is what Cornwall can expect between Monday 11th and Friday 15th May.
Monday and overnight
The day began with a chilly but sunny start across the region. Cloud is expected to build from the north through the morning, with patchy rain possible by midday. The afternoon should turn drier with sunny spells developing, and some parts may stay dry throughout. The maximum temperature is forecast to reach 15°C.
Overnight is set to stay dry with variable cloud and lengthy clear spells. There is a risk of a rural grass frost in the east of the region, with skies turning cloudier from the north towards dawn. The minimum temperature is expected to drop to 0°C.
Tuesday
Tuesday brings cloudier conditions with patchy light rain arriving from late morning. Some places may stay dry before skies break and sunny spells develop into the afternoon. It is also forecast to become rather breezy, with a maximum temperature of 16°C.
