Cornwall’s Wet Week Is Hiding a Warm Weekend Twist
If you have looked out of the window this morning, you already know what today has in store. The good news is buried a little further down the forecast, and it is worth holding on for.
Forecasters have set out the picture for South West England from Thursday 11th June through to Monday 15th June, and the short version is simple. It is wet and windy now, but things turn more settled by the weekend.
A soggy start
Today brings a wet morning as rain spreads across the region, locally heavy at times. The rain is expected to turn lighter and patchier through the afternoon, though it stays widely cloudy with hill and coastal fog at times. It will feel muggy despite the wind, with a maximum temperature of 18°C.
Tonight stays cloudy into the evening and overnight, with further outbreaks of light rain and drizzle, mostly over the hills. It remains widely breezy, and the temperature dips to a minimum of 10°C.
Friday holds on to the cloud
Friday is largely cloudy and breezy with patchy rain or drizzle, particularly over the hills and moors. Some brighter or sunnier spells are expected to develop during the afternoon, and it will feel warmer than recently, reaching a maximum of 20°C.

The turnaround
Saturday could still throw out a few more showers. After that, the outlook improves. Conditions become increasingly settled on Sunday, with drier and warmer weather developing. Monday looks similar, and it could feel very warm in the sunshine.
So if today has you reaching for a coat, hang on. The weekend is shaping up to be a different story entirely.
