The Sun Is Coming Back to Cornwall This Weekend

If you have been waiting for a proper weekend to make plans, this could be the one.

After a grey and damp start to Friday, the forecast for the South West points to brighter, warmer days ahead, with sunshine building through the weekend and into next week.

Today and tonight

Friday begins cloudy and damp, with patchy rain and drizzle around. Brightness is expected to be limited through the afternoon, and coastal and hill fog will hang on around Cornwall and Devon. It is warmer than it has been of late, though rather breezy, with a maximum temperature of 20°C.

Things change in the evening. Some sunshine is set to develop and it stays mostly dry overnight, with plenty of clear spells across the region as the winds ease. The minimum temperature drops to 8°C.

Saturday

Saturday looks the pick of the days for many, sunny for most with light winds. There is a risk of coastal mist and fog drifting across western Cornwall, so the far west may not be quite as clear. In the sunshine it should feel pleasant, with temperatures reaching 22°C.

Sunday to Tuesday

Sunday and Monday are shaping up to be fine, with plenty of warm spells of sunshine and light winds. Tuesday is where it gets less certain, with an increasing chance of showers developing later in the day.
