Cornwall Weather Twist: Sunshine Today, Hail Showers Tomorrow

People across Cornwall can expect a brighter and calmer Saturday today, 14th March, before more unsettled weather returns on Sunday with blustery showers and the possibility of hail.

Bright but Chilly Start for Saturday

Saturday is set to begin chilly but bright across the South West, including Cornwall. The day will remain largely dry with sunny spells developing.

A few showers are possible, mainly in the far west of Cornwall, but conditions will feel more pleasant in the sunshine. Winds will also be lighter compared with recent days.

Maximum temperatures today are expected to reach around 10°C.

Cloud and Drizzle Overnight

Through Saturday evening, some showers may continue, although most areas will stay dry.

Cloud will gradually build from the west overnight, with patchy rain and drizzle expected to arrive by dawn on Sunday, 15th March. Winds will also begin to freshen as the night goes on.

Temperatures are forecast to fall to around 3°C.

Damp Start and Hail Risk on Sunday

Sunday morning is expected to start damp with outbreaks of rain.

These will be followed by blustery showers moving through the region. Some of these could be locally heavy and may include hail.

Conditions are likely to feel chilly later in the day, especially in exposed areas where the breeze is stronger. Temperatures are forecast to reach a maximum of around 12°C.

Outlook for the Start of Next Week

Looking ahead to Monday 16th March through Wednesday 18th March, conditions will remain changeable.

Monday is expected to be mostly dry for much of the day, although rain could arrive later.

Tuesday is forecast to be often cloudy with the possibility of some drizzle.

By Wednesday, temperatures are expected to rise slightly, bringing a warmer feel with plenty of spring sunshine, although it may still be breezy at times.
