Rain First, Then a Warm-Up: What’s Coming This Week?

A changeable but increasingly warm week is expected across the South West, with a mix of rain, drizzle, sunshine and rising temperatures between Tuesday 14th April and Saturday 18th April.

Cloud, Rain and Mild Conditions on Tuesday

Today, Tuesday 14th April, is set to be cloudy and breezy, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle moving across the region. The rain is expected to become heavier into the afternoon, although temperatures will remain mild for the time of year, reaching a maximum of 16°C.

Damp and Foggy Overnight

Into tonight, the rain and winds are expected to ease slightly. However, conditions will stay cloudy and mild, with further outbreaks of drizzle. Fog is also likely to form over higher ground, with temperatures dropping to around 10°C.

Heavy Rain Followed by Sunshine on Wednesday

Wednesday morning is expected to bring a spell of heavy rain along with blustery winds. This will gradually clear, making way for drier and brighter weather later in the day.

As the sunshine develops, it will start to feel warmer, with temperatures climbing to around 17°C.

Warmer Days Ahead

Looking ahead to Thursday through to Saturday, the weather will remain changeable. There will be spells of rain and showers at times, but also brighter intervals.

Temperatures are expected to rise further as the week goes on, bringing increasingly warm conditions across the South West.
