Rain Sweeps Across Cornwall Today Before A Brighter Week

People across Cornwall can expect a wet start to Sunday as rain moves across the region before conditions begin to settle later in the week.

The latest forecast for the South West of England, updated at 07:48 (UTC) on Sunday 15th March 2026, shows rain spreading eastwards across Devon and Cornwall early in the day, followed by showers and sunny intervals.

Rain Moving East Across Cornwall

Today will begin cloudy, with outbreaks of rain already affecting parts of Devon and Cornwall and gradually pushing east.

Later in the day, a few showers are expected to follow from the west. These could be locally heavy at times but will be mixed with some sunny spells. Despite the brighter intervals, it is likely to feel rather chilly in the wind, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 12°C.

Showers Fading Tonight

Showers are expected to fade during the evening, with some sunny spells possible before sunset.

Overnight, there will be clear spells and the chance of an isolated shower, although most places are expected to remain dry. Temperatures are forecast to fall to around 3°C.

Monday Turning Cloudy Again

Monday will start dry and bright for many areas.

However, cloud will gradually build from the west, bringing outbreaks of rain and drizzle across the region during the afternoon. Conditions will also be rather breezy, with daytime temperatures again reaching around 12°C.

Brighter Weather Later In The Week

Looking ahead to the middle of the week, Tuesday is expected to be often cloudy with some drizzle, particularly over higher ground.

From Wednesday onwards, conditions are forecast to turn mostly dry with plenty of spring sunshine. Despite breezy conditions, it is expected to feel rather warm by comparison.
