What today holds
Higher cloud is making the sunshine hazy at times across Cornwall today, and there is a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms across the south of the county and into Devon. It stays breezy around the coasts. Temperatures across the region climb to a maximum of 30°C.
So if you are heading to a beach on the south coast, the odd sharp downpour is possible even while the rest of the day feels hot.
A warm night to follow
Any showers in the far south mostly fade this evening to leave a largely dry night with clear spells and variable cloud. The winds steadily ease off. It stays warm overnight, with the temperature dropping no lower than 17°C.
Thursday keeps a small risk in the south
Further showers and the odd thunderstorm could fringe the far south of the county on Thursday. Many other areas stay dry with bright or sunny spells, and it feels hot where the sunshine lasts, particularly further east. The regional maximum again reaches 30°C.
