Rain Returns Before a Sunny Twist This Weekend
The weather across South West England is set to remain unsettled in the short term, with a mix of showers, cloud and strengthening winds before conditions improve heading into the weekend.

Thursday 16th April
It’s been a bright start for many this morning, but coastal showers are expected to move inland through the day. Skies will gradually turn more overcast during the afternoon, with further spells of rain at times, particularly in the west.
Winds will start off lighter but are forecast to strengthen later on. Temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 16°C.
Tonight
Cloudy conditions are set to continue into the evening and overnight, with patchy rain and drizzle, especially over higher ground. A band of heavier rain is expected to arrive into Cornwall later in the night.
It will also turn windy, with temperatures dropping to around 10°C.
Friday 17th April
Friday may begin with some brighter spells in the east, but rain in the west will spread across the region during the day. Conditions are expected to improve later, turning drier and brighter as winds gradually ease.
Temperatures will again reach highs of around 16°C.

Outlook for Saturday 18th April to Monday 20th April
Looking ahead, the weekend is expected to bring a welcome change. High pressure is set to build, bringing largely fine and dry conditions.
With lighter winds and periods of sunshine, it is likely to feel pleasant across the region. These settled conditions are expected to continue into the start of next week.
