18/01/2026 – Weather in Cornwall
Cloudy skies, damp conditions and spells of rain are set to dominate the weather across South West England over the coming days, although parts of Cornwall may see brighter moments at times.
Sunday 18th January
The day is starting off cloudy and murky for many areas, with hill fog and drizzle in places. Heavier rain is expected to develop by lunchtime and last through much of the afternoon. West Cornwall is forecast to stay mostly dry and bright.
Temperatures are close to average for the time of year, with light southeasterly winds. The maximum temperature today is expected to reach around 10°C.
Tonight
Conditions remain largely cloudy overnight, with further outbreaks of rain that could turn heavy at times. Hill fog and mist are likely to return in places. Once again, West Cornwall is expected to stay mostly dry, with some clear spells developing. Temperatures could drop to a minimum of 2°C.
Monday 19th January
Monday is likely to be another cloudy and damp day, with rain and drizzle continuing. It will stay murky over hills and along coastal areas, although Cornwall may again see a few sunnier breaks. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach around 10°C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday
Tuesday is forecast to turn drier and brighter for a time, before wetter and windier conditions move in from the west later in the day and through Wednesday. By Thursday, the forecast points to sunshine mixed with showers. Overall, conditions are expected to remain generally mild across the region.
Residents are advised to be prepared for changing conditions as the week progresses, particularly with rain and reduced visibility in places.
