Cornwall Set to Reach 28°C This Weekend, and It Gets Hotter

If you have been holding out for a proper stretch of summer, the next few days look like the moment it turns up.

The regional forecast for South West England runs from Saturday 20 June through to Wednesday 24 June, and the short version is simple. It is turning increasingly warm.

Today and tonight

Saturday starts grey. There is cloud first thing this morning with a few spots of drizzle around. That cloud is expected to lift and break as the day goes on, opening up some good sunny spells. It will feel warm in the sunshine and a little less humid, with a high of 24°C.

The night stays dry with plenty of clear spells. It will be warm and humid, and the temperature is not expected to drop far, holding in double figures with a low of around 11°C.

Sunday turns hot

Sunday is the day the heat builds. Expect a largely dry and bright day with plenty of sunny spells, although there is a small chance of a few light showers later in the afternoon. It will feel hot and increasingly humid, with the temperature climbing to 28°C.

The week ahead

And it does not stop there. The outlook for Monday to Wednesday points to very hot and humid conditions at the start of next week, with warm and muggy nights to go with it. It should stay largely dry under strong sunshine, with only a small chance of the odd shower.
