Cornwall Set for a Scorcher This Bank Holiday Weekend
Get the sun cream ready. After a grey and drizzly start to the day, Cornwall is heading into a warm spell that will run right through the Bank Holiday weekend, with temperatures climbing into the mid-twenties.
A bright turnaround today
Thursday started cloudy, with mist patches and the odd spot of drizzle near western coasts. But that gloom is set to clear, with skies brightening through the afternoon and warm sunny spells developing. Winds will be mostly light, though it will feel a little breezier in the far west. Temperatures today are expected to reach a maximum of 21°C.
Tonight stays dry and clear to begin with, although low cloud will gradually drift into Cornwall and west Devon and could bring a few spots of drizzle. It will remain very mild overnight, with temperatures not dropping below around 12°C.
Warming up on Friday
Friday brings more of the same upward trend. Low cloud in the west will gradually become confined to the coasts during the day, letting very warm sunshine break through elsewhere. The best of that sunshine is most likely in the east, with the mercury reaching up to 24°C.

A very warm Bank Holiday
The outlook for Saturday 23rd through to Monday 25th is the headline for anyone with plans. It is set to be very warm across the Bank Holiday weekend, with plenty of sunshine and light winds. Any early morning cloud should burn back to the coasts through the morning on each day, leaving the rest of the day clear.
So if you have been waiting for a reason to get outside, this is it.
